Famous People Tag

Hi all! Skye from Ink Castles is amazing and tagged me for the Famous People tag.

The Rules:
-Put up the 'famous people tag button' and link back to the person who tagged you
-Answer the questions
-Tag the ten last people who commented on your blog (excluding anonymytes or the person who tagged you)

#1 Who's your favorite singer/group?

Oh boy, its a very close call between Thousand Foot Krutch, and NeedtoBreathe. Depends if I'm in need of screaming or poetic songs about outlaws....

#2 If your favorite male actor was in the same room as you right now, what would your reaction be?

I would probably make a complete fool of myself. Or else walk over and say Hi and ask them a question so he had to converse with me. Then I would kidnap him and we would be joined in holy matrimony.

#3 Is there a famous person you used to love but (due to something they have done in their life) you've suddenly changed your mind?
I used to really like Jennifer Knapp, but not anymore :(

#4 Name a famous person you like who's name starts with a V.
Um...V...That is such a hard letter! Viggo Mortensen.

#5 What's one of your favourite red-carpet dresses?
I really have never paid much attention, and the dresses I've seen I haven't liked....
I like this one, though I probably couldn't pull it off myself.

#6 Who's your favorite Royal person?
 .....
I really can't make myself like any of the royals that insist on swarming the front cover of every magazine in Wal-Mart.

#7 Who's your favourite child actor/tress
Dakota Fanning is great. She looks just like Minion 2.

#8 Is there an actor/actress you actually like their private lives of? (Not sure if that last question was properly phrased.)
Well, I'm sure there are things about them that I wouldn't like if I knew them really well, but Jennifer Lawrence, Taylor Swift, and Garrett Hedlund all seem to have fairly sane and normal private lives.

#9 Do you think that the actors/actresses have improved these last 100 years
Yeah. I mean, from like John Wayne on, we've had some really great actors. Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Robert Duvall, Jennifer Lawrence, Robert Downey Junior. When I watch some of the really old shows, it's just painful sometimes.

#10 What's the weirdest famous-people name?
I have always thought Lorde and Beyoncé were really weird names, even though that's their singer names and stuff. They're just strange to me.

#11 Do you think you look like a famous person? Which one(s)?
When I was younger I looked a lot like Annasophie Robb (especially in Bridge to Terebithia). We don't look quite as similar any more, because I'm not that blonde.

#12 Share your favorite famous-person quote

#13 Who's your favorite dancer?
Um....I really liked Ty Murray when he was on Dancing with the Stars...And Chuck the iceman Liddell. And Sadie Robertson...I don't know of any actual dancers that I like XP

#14 Why is your favourite actress your favourite one? When did you decide that she was your favourite?
You're assuming I have one...I really like Jennifer Lawrence. Because she's so blunt, and not worried about behind freakishly skinny, and she is an amazing actress. And...I just decided just now, because I couldn't think of anyone else.

#15 Have you ever met/seen/been close to a famous person?
I spent several hours visiting with all the guys from VOTA. Other than that...I have never met or been close to anyone famous.

Thanks Skye!

Another Tag!

I was nominated for the Best Blogging Buddies Award by Rachel from Secret Scribblings. Thanks Rachel!

As always, rules must come fist.

You must make a post to show your award on your main blog.
You must tag the person who nominated you in your post.
You must nominate all of your best buddies, and those whom you want to become best buddies with, who, to your knowledge, have not been nominated for this award.
You must ask your buddies at least 15 questions in your post.
You must answer all of the questions your buddies ask you on your post.

Now that such formalities are dealt with,
The Questions!

1. What is your favorite book from your childhood?
I read Daniel Boone over and over again. I have no clue who wrote it or where my copy of it went, but I loved it. I also read a book full of really creepy fairy tales with awesome illustrations to the point of the poor books destruction. I recently found out it is an antique and would cost like $300 dollars to replace....I also read the Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, and the original Peter Pan over and over again....was I supposed to answer with just one?

2.What is your method for keeping track of your writing ideas? (e.g., I have mine all categorized in a three-ring binder.)
Hehe, um...I scribble it down wherever. On a scrap of paper, on a note in my ipod, my arm. I just jot it down and eventually it ends up in one of the many folders full of paper in my bedroom.

3. Have you ever participated in any writing contests (e.g. Nanowrimo, 100/100), and how did you do?
I've done 100/100 twice. The first time I was a winner, and the second time I'm not done yet, but I think I'm still on track. I've also done Camp Nano and won that, and I'm doing Nanowrimo right now, but I'm behind. I've also taken part in lots of Go Teen Writers Prompt contests and I've won and been a finalist in several of those.

4. Tea or coffee (or hot chocolate)?
Coffee.

5. Have you ever traveled outside your country? Where?
Nope. I watched Lost. I will not be flying over seas as a result.

6. How long have you been blogging? Is this your first blog?
Just over a year. It's my first blogger blog, but I did run one on Sisterhood before this.

7. Where do you usually do most of your writing?
In my recliner in the living room.

8. Of all the characters you've ever written, who is your favorite and why?
Ack! You can't make me choose that! I love so many of them, but my old standby is Darren Fairbanks. The poor guy is in my first novel I ever finished and the story is absolutely awful, so I don't visit him much, but he was the perfect mix of sass and seriousness, and he could never decide if he was more of a father figure or a older brother or what. He was bucket loads of fun to write.

9. Do you have any pets? Do you want any?
I have an insane Red Heeler named Maggie and a handful of cats and some horses, and one cow that looks like the rugs you see in western stores.

10. What do you do when you're not writing?
Work. School. Read. Watch tv. Give guitar lessons. Pretty much live my life. Most of my writing is done at night.

11. Do you ever get writing inspiration from tv shows/movies?
All the time, which makes  a real struggle to keep it at inspiration and not plagiarism.

12. Horror or thrillers, or neither of them, ever?
I watch and read both equally. I don't read many horrors or thrillers, but when I find a good one I will read it. I watch thrillers a lot, but I love a good horror movie.

13. Was there ever a time you thought the movie was actually better than the book?
....No. There were a few times I thought the actor playing a character was better looking than the illustrations and fanart, but the book is always better.

14. What is your favorite holiday/special occasion and why?
Christmas I think, because I usually get to see all of my family on that day. And it has one of the most special meanings out of all of them, I think.

15. Would you rather BE a dragon, or HAVE a dragon?
I would much rather have a dragon.

BONUS ROUND:
And now, these age-old questions; Which is better:
Pirates or ninjas?
Ninjas or Jedi?
And why?

And I guess Ninjas. Because aren't Jedi from Star wars, or star treck or one of those wacky space shows? And Pirates rule.

Even More Tags!!

I was nominated by Carly at Books and Etc. for two tags! Thanks Carly!

The first is The Book Cake Tag

Flour
A book that was a little bit slow to start, but really picked up as it went along

It's been a while since I've read this one, but I remember it being a little slow for the first few chapters and then at the end things just started happening left and right and then BAM! it ended, and I didn't have the second book in the series.

Butter
A book that had a really rich and great plot
I thought the plot of The Hunger Games was great.

Eggs
A book you thought was going to be bad, but actually turned out really enjoyable

Achilles became a fictional crush for me.

Sugar
A sugary/sweet book
Haha, um...I don't read many of those....sweet....
This one was sweet.

Icing
A book that covered every single element about a book (funny moments, action moments, sad moments, etc.)

For me, it had everything.

Sprinkles
A book series that you can turn back to for a little pick me up when you're feeling down
It's a quick read and gives me an adrenaline rush. Perfect for a pick me up.

The Cherry on Top
Your favorite book this year so far

....How on earth am I supposed to choose when I've discovered The Selection, Matched, and Divergent all this year????

Now! On to the second tag. This one looks like so much fun ^_^

Who would be your father?
Hmmm...most of the books I read have absentee, or evil fathers....I think it would be America Singers dad (I can't remember his name, but he's in The Selection series). I like how he knows his daughter so well, and wants what is best for her, but also wants her to make her own choices.

Who would be your book mother?
I think my mom would be....Natalie Prior, from Divergent. She's so kind and caring, but she's also fun and crazy.

Who would be your sister?
Jo March! Not sure if we would be best friends, or fight like crazy, but I choose Jo.

Who/what would be your pet?
Thorn, the dragon from the Inheritance Cycle. He's like the ultimate guard dog, but such a injured soul. I loves him.

Where would you live?
....All of my favorite stories take place in a land ruled by crazy tyrants who would want to kill me or control my life! ....Narnia!

Where would you go to school?
I would go to Hogwarts for a few years, graduate early, then head off to the Institute to learn to be a Shadow Hunter.

What would be your fictional job?
I'd be with Ron Weasley's brother in Romania, studying and taking care of dragons.

Who would be your best friend?
My girl pal would be...Tris I think. And my best boy pal would be Jem Carstairs.

Who would be your significant other?
Will Herondale! For a little bit. Then Four. Then I'd date Murtagh. Then Gale. Finnick. No, Aspen. Or maybe Ky. Heck, maybe even Xander. Or Kiero. Or Jude. Levi and Riley are boss..Considine. How the heck am I supposed to choose one?? This is making me look like a really bad girl!

And, that's it! Thanks for tagging me :)

A Few Awards

Hi! While I was gone in Wyoming I was tagged for six posts, so I'm not going to do them all together, but I am going to lump them into three posts so I don't fill up your feed with random facts about myself and such. I was nominated for these three by Sarah from Forever Changed. Thank you Sarah!

One Lovely Blog Award
Rules of the Award:
1.- Thank the person who nominated you and include a link to their blog.
2.- List the rules and display the award.
3.- Add 7 facts about yourself.
4.- Nominate 15 other bloggers.
5.- Follow on blogger the person who nominated you

1. I've got a cold right now.
2. I'm currently reading three books.
3. I drew all my favorite logo's onto my sleeping bag with a permanent marker.
4. I always claim the black kittens out of the litters.
5. I owned a black stallion for three years...now I own a black gelding.
6. I go absolutely crazy when I get tired.
7. I love Glenn Beck.
Moving on....

The Rules:
*Give a brief story of how your blog got started, and give a piece or two of advice to new bloggers.
*Thank whoever nominated you, and link to their blog. List who you've nominated in the post.
*Make sure to also attach the award itself! (You can do this by right clicking, saving, and uploading the image.)
*Comment on each blog and let them know you've nominated them. Provide a link to the award post you created.
*Provide a link to the original post on Edge of Night. That way, anyone can find the original guidelines and post if needed, and we can keep it from mutating and becoming confusing! (It happens LOL.)
*For this award, you must nominate 15 peeps. You can't just go "I nominate this blog whoever wants it comment below" like that. You can decline the award also if you do not want to do the above rules.

Okay, first off, I do not have the original post on Edge of Night, so sorry, I can't link back to it.

Anyway-
1. I started The Wonderful World of My Life because I liked sharing my world with people. So many of my online friends weren't really sure what I meant when I said things like 'moving cows' or 'irrigating' and I thought blogging would be a great way of showing them what I was talking about. I also really wanted to be able to take part in writing linkups like all my favorite bloggers did. At that point I really didn't care if anyone read them, I just wanted to be able to find pictures and answer all the questions and that fun stuff.

2. Hmmm, advice for new bloggers....
Write whatever you want.
When I was going to start a blog everyone I talked to told me that I should only blog about one subject, or else people wouldn't really like my blog. They said to only blog about writing, or only do book reviews, or only post about my life. And I just disagree. The point of blogging is to have fun, writing about what you love. If that happens to be three or even six different topics, go for it. If someone doesn't like a certain type post, they are under no obligation to read it. Also, don't worry about the numbers. Most blogs aren't going to hit 3 billion followers in one year. It's going to take a little while for word of your blog to get around and for people to start commenting and things like that that make us feel like successful bloggers. The followers will come. So will the views and comments. Just be patient and have fun with it. But keep in mind (to paraphrase a Bible verse) if you want friends, you have to be friendly. Read other people's blogs and take the time to leave meaningful comments. Set your blog URL as your signature. Most people follow up on people who take interest in their blogs.

Here are the questions:

Q1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
This is going to be a weird answer, but I only get sick while reading in the backseat of cars. If I'm in the front seat, or in a larger vehicle, I don't get sick at all.

Q2. Books with or without illustrations?
Well, most the books I read don't have illustrations, just because that's not the norm for YA books, but when I love a detailed front cover, and when I was younger and reading middle grade, I loved illustrations.

Q3. Bookmark or a random piece of paper?
Dog ear. Really, it's usually a random piece of paper if I actually use a marker. Football cards, magazine subscription cards. Right now I'm using a tissue to mark a book (it's clean, I promise). But I do own some very pretty bookmarks.

Q4.What is the thinnest book on your shelf?

This one.

Q5. What is the thickest book on your shelf?
It's a tie between Inheritance by Christopher Paolini (read it) and Blackveil by Kristen Britain (don't read it).

Q6.When did you start getting into reading?
Before I could read. My mom read me the Little House on the Prairie, and Anne of Green Gables books for bedtime stories, and my dad read me Louis L'amour westerns.

Q7.What is your favorite classic book?
I've only read three, and my favorite is Little Women.

Q9. What is your favorite word?
Psychotic. I'm not even joking. I like using it in my every day conversations, and in writing. I can never remember how to spell it though....

Q10.One book at a time or several?
It depends what day it is. I go through phases where I will read six books at once, and then I will go for months and only read one book at a time.

That's all the awards from Sarah! I'm just going to list my nominations and you guys can pick and choose which, or all, or any of the ones you choose to take part in. And if you do the Ultimate Book tag, you can just answer the same questions I did, because I thought they were pretty good and I have neither space nor energy to think of my own.

Wild Horse @ Opal Swirls
Jillian @ Covers and Ink
Skye @ Ink Castles
J @ The Journeys of my Beating Heart
Jessy @Barefoot in the Snow
Alyssa @ Bits and Spurs
Carly @Books and Etc

....I know I was supposed to tag 15 people for the Blogger Recognition Award, but I'm having a little trouble because I follow tons of blogs, but so few of them are active anymore....So, I guess this is all I'm going to nominate. The blog tag police can come get me if they want.

A Novel Idea

It's time for a Novel Idea from Ashley at Ashley Aspires. I wasn't home for last weeks, but my word count on Running Crazy is way low, and I need some inspiration.

Here are this weeks questions, and I'll be using Reeve and Amy.

REEVE:

1. What kind-of house do they live in? Describe it – include pictures if you can!
Reeve lives in a single-story yellow house. Kind of a ranch style. It looks something like this.

2. What does their bedroom look like? Clean, dirty, etc
I honestly haven't developed this aspect of the story that well yet. But just guessing off their personalities, I'd say that Reeve's room is clean and pretty basic. His mom picks the décor in the house, and she makes him keep it clean.

3. Do they have a favorite room in their house?
He doesn't like to hang out in the house much. But he likes his bedroom, or the living room for things like watching movies. But I think the kitchen gets all of his love. The source of food and all things Doctor Pepepr.

4. Do they live with their family or alone?
Reeve lives with his mom and dad.

AMY:

1. What kind-of house do they live in? Describe it – include pictures if you can!
Amy usually lives in Omaha with her mom, and all the houses in Omaha look pretty much the same. Some neighborhoods are all tan, or some are all gray, but they all match in style and color. So hers looks like this one.

When she spends the summers with her dad though, she lives in a trailer house.

2. What does their bedroom look like? Clean, dirty, etc
Amy's room is...clean chaos. It's not gross dirty with like clothes and dishes everywhere, but there are books, and CD's, and guitar music piled all over.

3. Do they have a favorite room in their house?
She loves her bedroom. She does everything there.

4. Do they live with their family or alone?
She lives with her mom most of the time, as well as her stepdad.

Thanks for reading!

Thanksgiving Day Post

Hi guys! Happy Thanksgiving! Today I will be spending my time madly dashing around the house getting food ready, and then my grandma will come over and we are going to eat, and sing songs (I'll be playing guitar and my sisters have piano songs picked out), and eat, and grandma is bringing her accordion, and eat delicious things made out of chocolate, coconut, and sweetened condensed milk, maybe watch the thanksgiving day parade on TV, and definitely make fun of the little boy band singers who usually end up on there, and eat. It will be a full day.

Last night we watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving movies and I was trying to decide what to write for a thanksgiving post. I wanted to do something fun, and thought I might write something like I did for Easter, but I couldn't think of anything I loved.  And I wanted there to be some kind of meaning to the post. After all, Thanksgiving is a big deal. We celebrate it because pilgrims came over to America to get religious freedom, and God provided help for them to survive and eventually led to us being here. So, this is what I came up with.

Things I Am Thankful For: (in some order, but not really after the friends column)

God: For all the patience he has with me, and all the blessings he showers in on my life.
Jesus: For stepping down from his throne to be a lowly man and dying for all my rotten sins.
Salvation:  I am so thankful that God saw fit to open my eyes to the truth of salvation.
My family:  What in heck would I do without them?
My friends:  For listening to me when I'm having a down day, putting up with my unending sarcasm, and being so darn awesome about all things in general.
Where I live: Applies to America, and Nebraska, and the exact house I live in. I love it, and I wouldn't change it a bit.
My Health:  Aside from getting an iv as a baby I have had great health all my life and I am so thankful for that, because I am terrified of doctors.
Writing: My head would just explode if I couldn't get these words out on paper.
Music:  Ninety percent of what comes out of my mouth is song lyrics. I would be a very quiet girl without music.
My Dog:  She's insane, but I love her.
Horses and all the other animals:  I am in love with my pets, and animals in general. They are amazing creations.
End of my college career:  That's coming up in a few weeks. Thankful on so many levels.
Homeschooling:  I am beyond thankful that my parents took the time to homeschool me.
The creators of Zuko, Jett, and Mako:  Because.
Books and their authors: I love getting lost in other worlds and falling in love with the characters.
Creation:  The planets, the earth, things like gravity, plants, the oceans, all of it. It is amazing and I can't get enough of learning about it.
Science:  I love science and all the ways it points to our amazing designer.
The ability to block people on Facebook:  Even though I know I probably wont, it gives me great comfort to know that I can.

I hope you guys have a great thanksgiving! Odds are I wont respond to any comments until Friday when Christmas music finally comes on the radio (NO, I will NOT be going Black Friday shopping. You cannot make me), because I'll be spending time with my family.

I'm Back: Or, a story of sleep deprivation and caffine overdose

Hello peeps!
I missed you guys.
As per request, here is the post telling you all about my little adventure I drove off on.

Tuesday was the day of departure. I was supposed to leave at nine o'clock, but the bull went missing, the fence battery went dead, and a baby calf was up and born out in the cold, so it was nearly a full hour later than planned when we actually rolled down the driveway.

The time change from Central to Mountain made a person think the trip was 4 hours, but it was actually five. My parents dropped me off in Kimball and me and Kayla spent the next two days attending discipleship classes, and admiring the way Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki have been blessed in the looks department. Not to mention watching Potter Puppet Pals, and old music video's that never should have been made (the computerized special effects...And the OUTFITS *shudder*)
(behold)
I believe we were up to around one o'clock mountain time. My laughed and said two o'clock.
The next morning we went off to Starbucks (my first ever trip there) and I got a Salted Caramel Frappuccino. Very good. We also stopped at the very first Cabela's.

After dinner we headed out for LaGrange Wyoming. I had a vague idea of one way to get there, but a person told Kayla a "better" way.

Now, this person is a guy. And guys are supposed to be really good about giving directions.
And this person also lives in Wyoming, and is supposed to know how to get around the place.
So we took his way.

Keep in mind that we were driving a car.

Everything went pretty well till the last 'ten' miles on the GPS. That was on gravel road. I live on gravel roads. They don't bother me. But these were really special gravel roads. They had free ranging cattle and horses all over them. And they drove right through ranchers yards. And when we suddenly came to a sign that said Road Damage Ahead, a person just had to stop and think How much more damaged can it get??

We had planned out the dramatic discovery of two skeletons in a white car out in the middle of nowhere Wyoming (we decided we would title this little episode The Misadventures of Kayla and Maddie) when the GPS suddenly announced that we had reached our destination.
This is what we saw.

LaGrange is a town with a bible college in it.

Armed with a eight inch long pocket knife, I went and knocked on some random farm house door. No one answered, so we went to the next one.
And the door opened to....

A wonderful older lady who informed us that we were only about ten miles away from the actual LaGrange, and that no one takes this way, and the GPS has no idea where it is.

The next three days spent in LaGrange were more bible classes, ungodly amounts of Doctor Pepper consumption, a afternoon dash to the little café/store to by a Mountain Dew, watching The Lone Ranger (my horse vet is in that movie, so I had to point him out to Bekah), helping with cleaning at the college, almost winning card games, playing ping pong across the span of two rooms, and practicing wedding makeup on the bride to be. We also stayed up very late, and when me and Bekah weren't staying up, her roommate was, so most of the mornings I had blood shot eyes and all the boys stared at me.
^watching the desolation of smaug

I also became an official Hobbit fan this week.
I had read the book see, and thought it was fine, but hadn't been a true fan. I haven't even finished the Lord of the Rings books yet.
I had saw the LOTR movie, and the first Hobbit movie, but I really wasn't so concerned about the rest.
During the first night with Kayla, she played me a whole bunch of Hobbit Soundtrack.
Then Bekah discovered that I had never seen the Desolation of Smaug yet.
And then her cousin played the soundtrack again on the way back to Kimball.

So now, I am a Hobbit fan...
I shouldn't say Hobbit fan, because I still cant get overly attached to Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, and the rest of the hobbits.
But.
I am completely attached to Kili. And Fili. And Thorin.
I have loved Kili since the first movie, but I discovered I also liked Fili after watching him remove some twenty or so weapons from his person.
And Thorin is such a man. I can't help but love him.
Bard. Love. Enough said.

I also discovered that I'm not cut out for college life. Room mates, and shared bathrooms and showers, and bunk beds, and all the walls being one color, and the decided lack of band posters just isn't for me.

Friday night Bekah and I bribed her cousin into giving me a ride back to Kimball. Both me and Kayla were exhausted  when I arrived, but somehow we ended up on YouTube once again watching How It Should Have Ended. I'm just saying, the one for the Hunger Games was wonderful, and I wish it would have ended that way.

The next morning we packed up all our gear. I packed way too much. Didn't use half of what I brought, and forgot I had brought the other half. It's a good thing I didn't have to use it all though, because I basically planned for the apocalypse to happen while I was gone and was banking on a shortage of chap stick and pocket knives. (I could have started a black market out of my duffle bag). Then we headed out. We stopped at Starbucks for the second time in my life and I got a Caramel something or other that was really good. Halfway home we stopped at Starbucks for the third time in my life and I got a caramel espresso. Also good. We pretty much survived on apple sauce, pop tarts, and rock and roll music all the way home.

So yes, that is the story. I've got quite a few posts in mind for the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned.
